Welcome to the website for Hope Centre Children’s Home, Nyangusu/Kilgoris, Kenya! We are constantly updating our site with new material so be sure and bookmark this page and visit us on a regular basis.
The vision for Hope Centre began in the heart of Bishop Jackson Mongaine many years ago as a result of so many children being left as orphans across Southwest Kenya as a result of sickness, disease, and extreme poverty. In 2015, two acres of land was purchased with the help of special friends and Hope Centre was no longer a dream, but becoming a reality!
Throughout 2016, plans were drawn, permits purchased, approval was secured from all the necessary governmental agencies, two wells were drilled, and of course money was raised. In November 2017, construction began on the first dormitory and bathhouse at the Hope Centre property. In June 2018, the first dormitory and bathhouse was dedicated at the end of the annual Hope Centre Vacation Bible School.
Currently, there are twenty-seven children who call Hope Centre their home. We currently have two dormitories, two bathhouses, a small office space, a dining hall, and an outdoor kitchen that we have constructed. We are currently building the security wall around the perimeter of the property because one of our mandates is to give these children a secure environment to live, work, and grow in.
